Getting started

What is Drupal?

Drupal is a CMS (content management system) that powers nhm.org,nhmlac.org, tarpits.org and hartmuseum.org.

A CMS is a kind of software that enables people without knowledge of how to create/maintain a website to add and publish content to a site.

You might be familar with other popular CMS’s, such as WordPress. Drupal is very similar but is often used for larger enterprise grade sites whereas WordPress is often used for smaller projects.

How do I use Drupal?

To use Drupal to add/edit/publish pages and content, you will need to contact the appropriate administrator in M&C.

To access the Drupal admin interface that enables you to add/view/edit content, you will first need to log into the CMS.

How to log into Drupal

Log into the CMS by adding /user at the end of the domain you’d like to log into. For nhm, that would be as follows: nhm.org/user

Enter your username/password. If you do not remember your username or password, please contact your M&C administrator.
