The contents of the following include Galaxy related terms and definitions:
PLUs Terms
- Auto-validate - Refers to a PLUs validation status. A similar concept to scanning tickets, auto-validation is a configuration that upon issuing automatically lists tickets as validated (scanned). Scanning an auto-validated ticket is not necessary.
Events Terms
- On-Sale - The date and time in which an event is available to the specific group(s) to book.
- Off-Sale - The date and time in which an evnt is unavailable to the specific group(s) to book. Ex: Butterfly Pavilion events are off-sale the same day and 15 minutes after the event starts.
Order Entry Terms
- Generated Emails - the process of selecting “Generate Email” in an order in OE that a selected email will then be sent to the email linked to the order.
- Customer - A “group” created in Galaxy that an order will be under, different from a contact. Examples include “Online”, “Phone Orders”, “Schools”.
- Void Transaction - a transaction that is canceled by your organization before it settles through the guest’s debit or credit card account. A void doesn’t process a refund of the transaction and shouldn’t be used for the purpose of reimbursing a guest for a purchase. Instead, when you perform a void transaction, the system reverses the same transaction to cancel out the record and deactivate any tickets in the transaction. A void should only be used to remove mistaken charges, incorrectly-charged merchandise, and fraudulent purchases. For any other transactions, you should perform a return and refund according your your normal operations.
Membership Terms
- UDF - stands for User Defined Fields. A UDF can be created and defined on a membership level for inputting member information. EX: Upsell ID UDF #5
